Current Ideas

This is as much for my own personal records as it is for anyone who would stumble upon this blog. (I have purposefully not informed anyone about this blog yet because I want to complete a project before I actually get people asking me, "When is x gonna be done?") But here is a list of running ideas in my mind.

The Salvation Dawns - from what I can tell, I would say I am probably about somewhere between halfway to 2/3rds of the way through this one. I'm definitely going to try to finish this (even if it takes years).

The Fall - a sort of prequel to The Salvation Dawns that has been in my mind for a while. I've had moments of inspiration for this one, but no actual pages written. I feel like this will eventually happen.

The Salvation Dawns 2 - Obviously, this is not what the title of this book will be, but I already know I'm not going to cover the whole story in the first book. I have had a few inspirations for this one too about what should be in it.

Tales of Cangia - A collection of short stories that could be used as explanations for any loose ends, plus some other thoughts and ideas I've had that I know couldn't be full novels but make good short stories. Have started a few of these short stories.

I've also lately had an idea for some sort of collections of short story mysteries totally separate from the Cangia series. This would follow the story of a retired detective who specializes in knowledge of history (similar to Benjamin Gates from National Treasure if you want a good idea) who is drawn out of retirement by the very force that led him to retire. Yes, I'm being cryptic on purpose.

So, those are the main ideas for now, which is perfectly fine. The Salvation Dawns still needs to be finished before I can get started on another project, and it's also not like I work on these every day. However, I do hope that I can finish them because I feel like God has messages of healing and reconciliation that he wants me to write into prose.
